现任中国医学科学院副院长、北京协和医学院副校长、教授(长聘)、研究员，克里斯托弗·梅里埃实验室主任、博士生导师。主要从事重要呼吸道病毒的感染致病机制与防治研究。国家杰出青年科学基金获得者(2012年度)、教育部创新团队带头人(2013年)，获得国家“万人计划”首批科技创新领军人才(2013年)、全国优秀科技工作者(2016年)等多项荣誉称号。“艾滋病和病毒性肝炎等重大传染病防治”科技重大专项总体组成员、国家“生物安全关键技术研发”重点专项专家组成员。中华预防医学会第六届理事会常务理事兼生物信息学分会主任委员(拟任)，中华医学会医学病毒分会副主任委员，Biosafety & Health杂志执行主编，Frontiers in Microbiology等杂志编委。先后承担国家863计划、973计划、科技重大专项、国家自然科学基金等科研项目近20项。作为通讯作者发表SCI论文100余篇，获省部级及以上科技奖励6项。

Dr. Jianwei WANG is Professor (tenured) and Vice President of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (CAMS) and Peking Union Medical College (PUMC). He has long been engaged in etiology and pathogenesis of viral respiratory infectious diseases. He has taken the leading role in nearly 20 national research projects. He also serves as a member of the expert board of the natinoal major project "Prevention and Control of Major Infectious Diseases in China". Dr. Wang is the Executive Editor-in-Chief of Biosafety & Health and the associated editors of Frontiers in Microbiology. He has published 140 peer reviewed papers in international journals as corresponding author or co-corresponding author, including Cell, Lancet, Am J Resp Med Crit Care, Cell Host & Microbe, Cell Res, PNAS, Nat commun. He is one of the highly cited researchers 2020 in China released by Elsevier.
